纳粹时代尼莫拉牧师一段椎心刺骨的忏悔

这是镌刻在美国波士顿「犹太人屠杀纪念碑上」上的,德国尼莫拉牧师Martin Niemöller (1892-1984) 的忏悔诗。

First they came for the socialists
and I did not speak out because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up, because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak for me.

他们追杀共产主义者, 我没有说话———因为我不是共产主义者;

他们追杀工会成员,我没有说话———因为我不是工会成员;

他们追杀犹太人, 我没有说话———因为我不是犹太人;

他们追杀天主教徒, 我没有说话———因为我是新教教徒;

最后他们奔向我来, 却再也没有人站出来为我说话。
