你被称在天平里，显出你的亏欠(但5：27)。
耶和华是大有智识的 神，人的行为被他衡量(撒上2：3)。人所尊贵的，是 神看为可憎恶的(路16：15)。耶和华不像人看人，人是看外貌，耶和华是看内心(撒上16：7)。不要自欺， 神是轻慢不得的。人种的是什么，收的也是什么。顺着情欲撒种的，必从情欲收败坏；顺着圣灵撒种的，必从圣灵收永生(加6：7，8)。
人若赚得全世界，赔上自己的生命，有什么益处呢?人还能拿什么换生命呢(太16：26)?我先前以为与我有益的，我现在因基督都当作有损的(腓3：7)。你所喜爱的是内里诚实(诗51：6)。你已经试验我的心，你在夜间鉴察我，你熬炼我，却找不着什么(诗17：3)。
Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. DAN. 5:27.
The LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him, actions are weighed. — That which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. — The LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. — Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting.
What is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? — What things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts. — Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing.

初熟的果子是基督(林前15：23)。
一粒麦子不落在地里死了，仍旧是一粒；若是死了，就结出许多子粒来(约12：24)。新面若是圣洁，全团也就圣洁了；树根若是圣洁，树枝也就圣洁了(罗11：16)。 基督已经从死里复活，成为睡了之人初熟的果子(林前15：20)。 我们若在他死的形状上与他联合，也要在他复活的形状上与他联合(罗6：5)。主耶稣基督要按着那能叫万有归服自己的大能，将我们这卑贱的身体改变形状，和他自己荣耀的身体相似(腓3：20，21)。 从死里首先复生的(西1：18)。 叫耶稣从死里复活者的灵若住在你们心里，那叫基督耶稣从死里复活的，也必藉着住在你们心里的圣灵，使你们必死的身体又活过来(罗8：11)。复活在我，生命也在我；信我的人，虽然死了，也必复活(约11：25)。
Christ the firstfruits. I COR. 15:23.
Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. — If the firstfruit be holy the lump is also holy : and if the root be holy, so are the branches. — Now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. — If we have been planted together in the likeness of his death we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. — The Lord Jesus Christ … shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. The firstborn from the dead. — If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken our mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
